As mentioned in last month’s newsletter, State/District/Posts are starting to use Internet
access to distribute information. If you have access to the Internet you will get your
newsletter via the Internet; if you do not have access you need to call the Post to KEEP
your name on the mailing list. If we do not get a response by 08/31/2008, your name will
be taken off the mailing list.
Dano, Billy Wells & myself attended the District 21 Kick-Off Meeting in Haltom City on July
20th. We received all of our required programs for the 2008-2009 year & will start
working them immediately. We will need an aggressive program if we are to succeed on
our membership requirements. The next District 21 Meeting will be held at OUR POST
on October 12, 2008 & this will require a lot of help from ALL members. Work has
already started on the kitchen & bathroom tile floors & should be done by July 31, 2008;
this includes 2 new handicap toilets.
We have had great turnouts for Steak Night, Burger Wednesdays & Taco Fridays - the
food is great. If you have not attended these functions, you are missing out! Hope to
see you at one of these activities. Thanks to the Ladies Auxiliary for all their hard work !!
As a fund raiser, we will be selling raffle tickets for a Brunswick 8 ft pool table & overhead
light. Retail value is $3,200 - tickets will go for $10 each. The drawing will be before
Christmas.
The Post is taking a poll on WW II Veterans that are members and not deceased. Please
call 817-573-9350 and leave your name with the bartender on duty.
On a final note, I want to thank Les Bunch for building the card tables for our Friday night
games - they are 1st class!!!
